Closing of the festival with an international premiere of the Czech feature film Comenius. Dedicated to Jan Amos Komensky, who lives in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, in a time of hatred between Catholics and Protestants. He is not only a pedagogue, but also a writer, scientist, philosopher, theologian, bishop of the Czech Brotherhood and lives a spiritually ascetic life. He is under strong impressions of Francis Bacon, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Jan Huss. Komensky is an example with his life of everything that is spiritual, sublime, but also of the suffering and the humane. A great movie that we highly recommend! When a long-awaited call from Omar arrives, relief turns to horror as he reveals he is at sea, struggling against a storm. As their fragile connection deteriorates, so does Nadia’s hope.

A short horror movie we did with the team for the Jakob Owens Horror Short Film Contest! Another great performance from Lana Syntari and the man behind the mask, the Pigeon-man - Sam Barlien. Amazing cinematography by Patrik Jericha and wonderful sound design by Rico Casazza. Who knows, this might be just a first part of a much bigger story...
